Super Bowl Is Over… Time For The Winter Olympics
Well, its a sad time of the year for me. Football season is officially over. Okay, some would try to argue that there is still one more game left, the NFL Pro Bowl, but the NFL is more of business than football anymore so I can’t really imagine counting the NFL Pro Bowl as a real football game.
The fact is the NFL doesn’t have half the passion and intensity that college football has and this is what makes it less interesting to me. I really can’t say that I have a favorite NFL team. Of course, I have teams that I would prefer to win over other teams. But I just don’t have that passion for one team that makes me cheer for them no matter what the circumstance.
Super Bowl XL Commercials
In case you missed some of the Super Bowl XL Commercials, Google Video has most (if not all) of them available for viewing.
They even include some of the GoDaddy.com Super Bowl Commercials that weren’t allowed to be shown on television. Those would include:
- Steamy Car Wash
- Can’t Refuse
- Window Washer (Full Version)
- Kissing Booth
This was the one GoDaddy.com ad that was approved to be shown.
Here is my personal list of favorites from this years Super Bowl Commercials:
Jerome Bettis Returns Home For The Super Bowl
Jerome Bettis will be returning home in a couple weeks to play what is expect to be the final game of his NFL career. What better way could it end other than playing in his home town with a chance to become a Super Bowl Champion.
With Bettis being a former Notre Dame football player, I have nothing but the utmost respect for this man. He was a good back in college and has worked hard to become a great back in the NFL. He unique style of power, size, and determination has earned him a great nickname… "The Bus".
NFL Playoffs
Well, now that there are officially no teams left that I could give a darn about, I’ve become simply a spectator to the rest of the NFL playoffs. I’m not a big NFL fan in the first place but I can usually pick a team to root for based on the coaching or certain players from what I know of them from college. That is no longer an option since I haven’t taken a minute to pay attention to 3 out of the 4 teams left.
Pittsburgh and Denver should be an interested matchup next week. With as well as Pittsburgh has shown playing on the road in their first two games, I think they have a very good chance. But Steelers fans should definitely not want me to pick them. Me picking a team in the playoffs this year has been the sure kiss of death. I picked Cincinnati against Pittsburgh, New England against Denver, Indianapolis against Pittsburgh, and Chicago against Carolina. Yes, that is right, I’m a stellar 0-5 in any game that I’ve shown interest in.
Seattle and Carolina, two teams which I haven’t watched at all in the regular season and I don’t really plan on watching them this week. I really couldn’t care less who wins that game.
At this point, I’m done making picks and rooting for anyone. I’m going to be a neutral fan in each game and just enjoy them.
I’m going to head back to researching the recruiting trail in college football where I belong.
