Jimmie Johnson Wins Daytona 500 Without Chad Knaus

Johnson_daytona

It just wouldn’t be right if I didn’t post something about the Daytona 500. After all it is the start of another great racing year.

However, I found the race surprisingly boring.  I was hoping for Elliot Sadler to pull out of line during the Green-White-Checker finish and have Dale Jr. push him to victory but he chose to go with the safe route and lock up his top five finish.

Cheater or champion? Such is the stigma that Jimmie Johnson has to
bear after winning his first Daytona 500 just 10 days after his crew
chief was kicked out for illegally altering his car.

Johnson won
a two-lap shootout Sunday to claim the victory, capping a
roller-coaster week that saw NASCAR kick his crew chief out of
competition for cheating.

Olympics Keeping My Blogging Occupied…For Now

I’ve been really busy trying to keep the Winter Olympics News posted to my Torino blog.  So much that it has completely take all my time away from being able to post to this blog.  However, I will be back to posting here very soon.

I want to start posting more in depth about different aspects of my businesses.  Not the extreme details or anything but different things that I’ve learned over the last 4 years of developing multiple online businesses.

Here are the different topics I’ll be discussing over the next few weeks…

It runs off of a feed from Yahoo, so the counts should be almost real time.

2006 Notre Dame Football Schedule With Kickoff Times

Notre Dame has now announced the official kickoff times for the 2006 season.  So I decided to update my 2006 Notre Dame Football schedule with the appropriate times.

Of course, the only times that are posted are the home games.  The away games depend on the home team to determine the kickoff times.

Google Puts Talk In Gmail

GmailGoogle has integrated two of its products that I like the most, Talk and Gmail.  I switched over to Gmail to manage all of my email about 6 months ago and it has been the best move I’ve made.  It simplified having everything in one place since my Outlook setup was getting pretty complicated.

I have multiple businesses that require multiple email addresses so I needed to be able to come up with an easy way of managing that.  When Google added the feature to be able to send from multiple email addresses other than the @gmail.com address, that finalized the switch over for me.  This allowed me to send emails from Gmail from my business addresses.

Super Bowl Is Over… Time For The Winter Olympics

Well, its a sad time of the year for me.  Football season is officially over.  Okay, some would try to argue that there is still one more game left, the NFL Pro Bowl, but the NFL is more of business than football anymore so I can’t really imagine counting the NFL Pro Bowl as a real football game.

The fact is the NFL doesn’t have half the passion and intensity that college football has and this is what makes it less interesting to me. I really can’t say that I have a favorite NFL team.  Of course, I have teams that I would prefer to win over other teams.  But I just don’t have that passion for one team that makes me cheer for them no matter what the circumstance.

Apple 1GB iPod Nano

The New Nano
Looks like Apple had taken yet another step forward to separate themselves from the competition.  They now are offering a small version of the Apple iPod Nano, a 1GB version of it.

Apple_ipod_nanoIt’s not like they don’t already have 70 percent market share in the U.S.  I guess one issue they may be addressing with the lower end models is their international market, which they only have about a 40 percent market share.

The new 1GB Nano, the sleek iPod model that won rave reviews
from critics and consumers when it was introduced last September, was
priced at $149.

The 2-gigabyte Nano sells for $199 and holds about 500  songs; a 4-gigabyte model sells for $249.

An interesting fact that recent studies suggest only a third of all U.S.
households have a digital music player, suggesting that the market
opportunity for the iPod is greater than its market share suggests.
